Prior to forming RGL Consultants in January, 1988, Mr. Lehr served in several Senior HR Management positions in major Corporations: Citicorp Savings of Illinois (formerly, First Federal of Chicago and now CitiBank), Associates Corporation of North America; CNA Financial Corporation; and CNA Insurance. Overall, Mr. Lehr has in excess of 45 years of professional experience in human resources.
Rich Lehr also has significant experience (over 20 years) as an Outplacement/Career Transition Consultant working with individuals and groups at all organizational levels in the areas of: Career Decision Making, Job Search Strategies, Entrepreneurship, Active Retirement Planning, Change Management, and New Leader Coaching. Mr. Lehr has established and managed numerous Career Resource Centers in support of corporate clients.
Mr. Lehr has been a guest speaker on a wide variety of human resources-related topics at professional seminars and for professional groups, associations, and educational institutions to include: Selected Independent Funeral Homes, Association of Specialized & Professional Accreditors (ASPA), The Federation of Independent Illinois Colleges and Universities (FIICU), National Association of Independent College & University State Executives (NAICUSE), Association Forum of Chicagoland, North Suburban Bank Personnel Association, The Management Association of Illinois, Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce, Oak Brook Area Chamber of Commerce, DuPage Valley Human Resources Association, Illinois CPA Society, University of Illinois, Moraine Valley Community College, and Purdue University. In addition, Mr. Lehr was referenced (along with RGL Consultants) as a resource for compliance information regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act in INC. magazine, and was interviewed regarding small business compliance issues on this topic for a televised news story aired by CNBC.
Mr. Lehr has been active in World at Work (formerly the American Compensation Association) since 1965, and held a variety of leadership positions to include: Chairman, Compensation Research Advisory Committee, Central Region President, Central Region Secretary/Treasurer. Mr. Lehr is a former member (twice) of the American Compensation Association’s National Board of Directors. Also, Mr. Lehr is a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland.
Joining RGL Consultants in September, 2005, Dave Slivinski contributes significantly in providing general Human Resources consulting support to our clients. Dave also focuses his efforts on providing Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management initiatives to clients wishing to optimize the alignment of human capital and organizational performance.
Dave has worked within environments that have undergone significant organizational transformation and change; experience which has proven invaluable in addressing client goals and objectives. Dave’s 15 years of “real life” practical management/leadership experience are complimented by his strong academic credentials, written and verbal communications skills and strong presentation and group facilitation abilities.
Dave earned his Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from KW University in Thousand Oaks, California and a second Masters Degree in Management and Organizational Development from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. He is an adjuct faculty member at Joliet Junior College
Our most recent addition to the RGL Consultants’ staff is Jim Kacena, who brings over 30 years of professional experience in various corporate, healthcare, educational, and entrepreneurial work settings as a background for his internationally recognized expertise in Career Management Consulting. Beginning his work in this field in 1980, Jim has consulted over 4,000 individuals on such topics as career transition, career development, change management and executive coaching. He has written articles for national publication, has been invited to appear in the media, has served as an expert witness on career-related issues, and is often quoted for his insightful and creative approaches to the job search process.
Jim’s expertise includes working with individuals and groups at virtually all organizational levels in the outplacement process and managing major downsizing assignments; including long term, out-of-town assignments and Career Center Management. Also, Jim has considerable experience involving Developmental Coaching (Leadership, Communication, and Management Skills), Change Management, and 360 Assessment/Feedback.
Prior professional experience includes serving as Senior Director for Spherion Human Capital Consulting, where he was responsible for leading a consulting staff of 25 consultants within 5 offices in the delivery of career transition and coaching programs. Jim was also a Vice President for Right Management Consultants, where he personally delivered career and coaching services to senior management candidates, and orchestrated major projects. As a Consultant on Contract with several firms, such as Lee Hecht Harrison, he worked on dozens of major career transition projects. Jim began his career management professional career with Performance Dynamics as Assistant Vice President, where he delivered outplacement services to national clients.
Prior to his career management profession, Jim operated his own retail businesses, which was preceded by 3 years as an Operations Officer with Continental Illinois National Bank (now Bank of America), and 3 years as a Staff Psychologist with the Illinois Department of Mental Health.
Jim holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from the University of Illinois, and has taken coursework toward an MBA in Marketing at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Business. Active in professional and civic associations, he is co-founder of the Association of Career Professionals International, where he served as U.S. President for 1,500 members. Presently, Jim is Chairperson for the Association’s Ethics Committee. Jim also serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Illinois Alumni Career Center, as well as an Advisory Consultant to the Illinois Certified Public Accounting Society.
In 1994, Jim received one of his highest honors … being selected as a Charter Fellow within the Institute of Career Certification International, a certifying organization whose goal is to continually improve the level of competency, ethics and professionalism in the Career Management field. Jim Kacena was among only 13 professionals in the World to have been awarded this distinction. Since, he has mentored and sponsored over two dozen professionals seeking certification. In 2005, Jim was honored by his profession with a Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognized him for his valuable contributions to the field of career consulting and job search advising.
